Het 'speelveld' tussen beeldende kunst en podiumkunsten

In het kader van Playground zetten het Vlaams Theater Instituut (VTI) en het steunpunt voor audiovisuele en beeldende kunsten (IAK IBK) samen met STUK een studienamiddag op die inzoomt op de crossover
tussen podium en beeldende kunst. Inzet is het in kaart brengen van dit tussenveld en het overdenken van een aantal consequenties van hybridisering. Hoe geven organisaties en instellingen deze eerder
experimentele mengvormen een plaats binnen hun ruimtes en programmatie? Hoe kunnen ze leiden tot nieuwe formats en hoe kunnen die naar het publiek gecommuniceerd worden? Cruciaal is ook de vraag hoe het beleid ondersteuning kan bieden aan kunstenaars die binnen of tussen verschillende disciplines werkzaam zijn. Tijdens deze studienamiddag worden mogelijkheden en modellen belicht door binnen- en buitenlandse sprekers met expertise binnen dit experimentele en hybride domein. Vanuit het standpunt van de kunstenaar, organisatie en beleid worden er linken gelegd tussen internationale gastsprekers en de eigen kunstensector.

On the occasion of Playground the Vlaams Theater Instituut (Flemish Theatre Institute, VTI), the Steunpunt voor Audiovisuele en Beeldende Kunsten (Office for Audiovisual and Visual Arts, IAK IBK) and STUK organise a symposium that focuses on the crossover between performance arts and visual arts. The aim is to map this intermediate realm and to reflect on the consequences of the hybridization. What place is there for these experimental mixed art forms within the exhibition spaces and programmes of organisations and institutions? How do they result in new formats? How should they address the public? Another crucial question is how the government can support artists that are active in one discipline or who work across disciplines. During the symposium various possibilities and models are discussed by national and international experts in the experimental and hybrid domain that comprises live arts and visual arts. The links between
international guest speakers and the local art scene are treated from the
perspective of the artist, organisations and government policy.ยจ
