Maxim Lany (BE) (Lany - We Play House Recordings)

Born, bred and residing in Ghent Maxim Lany has been into music for as long as he can remember. The record collection of his parents quickly led him to the game of dj’ing and he has not looked back since. Starting with your typical ‘for my friends’-parties and creating those first bedroom mixes it did not take long before more people took notice of Maxim’s dj’ing skills and over the years he became one of the main players on the electronic music scene.

Like any self-respecting dj Maxim also ventured into music production and he has released several well-received tracks over the past years. One of the main ones being the 'Highway ep.' on We Play House Recordings. This record and its positive worldwide response was the trigger to talk to Red D – the label manager of We Play House Recordings – about starting a new record label together that would reflect Maxim’s musical vision and personality. Lany Recordings was born and now Maxim has an outlet for all his musical ideas. Be prepared to be surprised, because this man has more up his sleeve than you would imagine.

Gratts (The Disco Nap, Moodclub)

Gratts and his bag of records, sometimes two, have been touring Belgium for more than ten years now. After getting into electronic music more than a decade ago, he's still as much in love with it as ever, at the same time always discovering and searching for 70's and 80's blueprints.

Throughout the years, Gratts has had the honour of sharing the decks with deejays like Will Saul, Eddie "Flashin" Fowlkes, Kenny Hawkes, Tyree Cooper, Theo Parrish, Jon Cutler, Scott Ferguson, Luke Solomon, DJ Heather, Inland Knights, Diz and many, many more, as well as probably almost any Belgian jock you can think of. Unfortunately, he doesn't like namedropping. He just keeps the flyers in an old shoebox. In 2010, he divides his time between residencies at Moodclub/Soulclub, clubSTUK and Another Late Night as well as appearing as a guest at various other spots.

Known for his love for the obscure without losing an eye on the vibe and the crowd, the sound of Gratts' vinyl only deejay sets varies from solid, futuristic house music to (nu-)disco jams, 80's shit, funk and sometimes even a bit of hiphop thrown in for good measure. Depending on his moodswings you'll hear him play hard or soft, old or new, because in the end, as he firmly believes, good music is timeless.
