Jaguar

'Jaguar is the name given to some horses, a dance piece and a marionette show. In Jaguar we are puppets and in this manipulated theatre, we entrust ourselves to others and to their hands: Mandinga d' Soncent, Wolfli, Blaue Reiter, Prince, Hoffman, among others. While they are radically different, they also are our own extension. Jaguar is an excerpt, a hunting scene, or indeed a haunted-hunting scene.' – Marlene Monteiro Freitas

Marlene Monteiro Freitas werd geboren in Kaapverdië, waar ze mede-oprichter en lid was van dansgezelschap Compass. Ze studeerde aan P.A.R.T.S (Brussle), E.S.D en Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian (Lissabon). Ze werkte samen met Emmanuelle Huynn, Loic Touzé, Tânia Carvalho, Boris Charmatz, en anderen. Enkele van haar creaties: Of ivory and flesh - statues also suffer (2014); Paradise - private collection (2012-13); (M)imosa (2011), een project met Trajal Harell, François Chaignaud en Cecilia Bengolea; Guintche (2010); A Seriedade do Animal (2009-10); Uns e Outros (2008); A Improbabilidade da Certeza (2006); Larvar (2006); Primeira Impressão (2005). De rode draad door de werken is openheid, onpuurheid en intensiteit. Ze is mede-oprichter van P.O.R.K., een productiestructuur in Lissabon.

Andreas Merk is geboren in Duitsland, studeerde dans en theater in Frankfurt (Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst), Brussel (P.A.R.T.S.) en Zwitzerland (Scuola Teatro Dimitri). Hij nam deel aan producties voor podium en scherm van onder meer deze regisseurs en choreografen: Tomer Heymann, Idit Herman, Nicolas Steman, Falk Richter, Tania Carvalho, Inbal Pinto&Avshalom Pollak Dance Company, MataNicola, Noa Shadur, Marlene Monteiro Freitas, Richard Siegel.
