New-Zealand artist Kate McIntosh, who lives in Brussels since 2000, merrily assembles an oeuvre that plays with our daily habits. With Worktable she starts a chain of works that make us think about the material world around us, by giving objects a value that surpasses the practical use. With an ingenious play of acts and recollections, McIntosh asks questions about the incessant urge to produce. Armed with a manual, she sends us - one child and one adult at a time - on our way to face our own responsibility. There is work to be done!
