Secret Garden
Secret Garden (jardin secret in het Frans) is: "a deep universe of the being in which the feelings, the passions and the intimate dreams are secretly expressed". Vincenzo Carta en Adrien Monfleur vertrekken van het idee ontmoeting in de 21e eeuw, in een context gedomineerd door het digitale beeld waarin elk individu maker van beelden en archieven is. Ze onderzoeken de paradox tussen een geheime intimiteit op openbare plaatsen en een private intimiteit die wordt gedeeld door beelden op sociale netwerken.
Secret Garden is een multimediaproject tussen film, performance en installatie dat de status van het beeld bevraagt: hoe volledig en subjectief is ze, en hoe verhoudt de meerderheid zich vandaag met die gesofisticeerde toestellen van afwezigheid, zoals de smartphone. Vincenzo Carta en Adrien Monfleur gebruiken het podium om een reis voor te stellen langs dit universum en te testen hoe de relaties met toeschouwers kunnen worden verkend door gebruik van digitale tools eigen aan deze tijd: smartphone en scherm.
Vincenzo Carta (1978, Italy) studied architecture in Firenze before starting a dance education at P.A.R.T.S. During his two years there, he created several group choreographies. After his studies he started creating his own work and toured with: audience with Solo and Urban Project X. In 2006 he created the piece We-go with Benjamin Vandewalle. They founded WeGo-vzw, and created Inbetween (2007). For and with Passerelle in Kortrijk (BE), he created the piece we all go and gnosis in 2009. In 2011 he created gnonis#1 in collaboration with ONGAUAW. In 2013 he presented the performance Hold. Since 2013 he collaborates with Adrien Monfleur. He has worked with other artists such as Giorgio Rossi, Andy Deneys, Vincent Dunoyer, Willy Dorner, David Hernandez and Thierry Smits.
Adrien Monfleur (1983, France) studied video editing at EFFET (Marseille) and cinema at the Beaux Arts of Marseille. He develops his personal work in the form of videos such as Seule, Parce que l’autre, How could you join me, Onirique, In my room. As photographer he creates series about night life. Since 2011 he has been working for cinema as first assistant director for Amélie Derlon Cordina, Camille Mikolajack, etc. He assists the scenographer Arié Van Egmond for theater and works with theater director : Marcel Deval and Aurore Fattier. He collaborated with several artists and movie makers, such as Audrey Lucie Risen, Mathias Varenne, and Thomas Couderc. Since 2013, he works with Vincenzo Carta with whom he realized the videos : Because of my eyes tried to land and stolen cock.
